Turkey Calls

Welcome to the homepage of Tomfoolery Custom Turkey Calls. Our custom calls are made with pride by a Maine Craftsman. What makes our call special is that these calls were designed with the hunter in mind, and crafted by a hunter, Art Jasmin. Art's story is below--

I first hunted turkeys in 1990 with friends from PA and New York. Hearing a tom respond to a call and being in the woods those spring mornings was all it took, I've been addicted ever since. After a few years of hunting I couldn't find a box call that I really liked. One afternoon I said out loud: " I guess I'll have to build a box call to get what I want." I'm a carpenter/cabinet maker by trade. One of my companions from PA and long time turkey hunter announced: " There's a lot of people that think they can build turkey calls." I took that as a challenge. It took some experimenting with different combinations to arrive at this design. I made a few calls to take with me the next season and the guys as well as the turkeys liked them.

I got my brother interested in the calls as well as turkey hunting and he shot a turkey his first season using one of our calls. He and I were talking on the phone about the dual hen call and how the gobble would fool the resident tom into thinking there was another tom stealing his hens - " Tomfoolery - that's the name!" We laughed about it but couldn't come up with anything we liked better.
